Pen and ink rendering of a lichen covered-stone from my 2018 travel in the Arctic area. Lichens are so fascinating. Truly timeless - they estimate some of them are at least 8000 years old - slowly and steadily growing, bringing their own amazing landscape with them - small ecosystems harmoniously integrated into the vast one. And so cosmic, the work being a very realistic rendering could easily be viewed as an organic abstract or something that belongs in outer space - so I decided to give this drawing a honorary feature in my recent Organic/Cosmic series
