Algumas informações sobre esta pintura/Some informations about this painting:

In english:
As I always say, Alvor is my 'second home'. I mean, It’s here that i spend many days of my life, to rest (but… an artist never rests :) ) or just for painting and stand near the sea. This painting represents one of the beautiful views of Alvor, which we can have from the Ria of Alvor, and in the background, on the left side, you can see the Church tower. Alvor is a small and picturesque fishing village located in the county of Portimão, Algarve, south of Portugal. In 2011 the census confirm that this small village had a little more than 6,000 inhabitants, but as almost all the Algarve coast, the population increases in Summer. The history tells us that Alvor date of time before the Roman occupation and was called “Ipses”. However, the Moorish occupation, between centuries VII-VIII, Ipses came to be called "Al-Bûr" - the origin of the present name.
The Mother Church of Alvor is the ex-libbris of the architecture of the Manueline style in the Algarve. Built in the 20s of the 16th century, this church presents the most beautiful Manueline portico in the region, decorated with motifs alluding to fauna and flora, war scenes and religious symbols.
In the interior, the portuguese tiles of the XVIII century stand out, as well as the rich images present in the six altars of gilded carving. Here is also the famous and miraculous image of the "Lord Jesus", which according to legend was given to the coast and was placed on the altar by the fishermen of Alvor.
