Lives and works in London (UK)

Light (*) is the main medium used by this young French visual artist whose work deals with both notions of trace and memory.

"Between technique and medium, matter and ether, Light allows to overstep the material/physical aspect of our environment. Like a biological tracer it reveals traces from past moment and rekindles souvenirs we thought lost.

By light I mean, in the broad sense of the terme, the use of beams as well as images projections (luminous in essence). Depending on whether the light is used as a primary or a secondary source, it questions more specifically an emanation or a reflection of our own world. Thus lighting up an object with spotlights or by coating it with phosphorescent pigments has neither the same result nor the same meaning : in the former case we project, consciously or not, a part of ourselves onto this object which becomes a kind of filter-screen; in the later case only the inner strength/energy of the object is highlighted. Light emanates, oozes directly from the object which seems to be enlightened from the inside."
Pierre R. Auboiron, January 2002

He is currently working on an exhibition relating two unrealised projects dealing with giant images projections onto two Parisian monuments.
He is writing an essay on Light entitled “En attendant que la nuit tombe” (Waiting for the night to fall). It will be a three part book : the essay itself, a series of drawings and photos of his (un-) realised projects and some excerpts of his journal from 1999 to 2002.
He also works on two new projects in Paris and in Kyoto (Japan).

He obtained his PhD in History of Art at the Sorbonne in 2007 : “The Light-material in the artistic creation from the 70's to nowadays".

(*) Light in all its forms : phosphorescent pigmentation, ray of light, video or images projections, stained glass ...
