On a ferry cruise on Lake Iseo in Italy we visited this pretty lakeside town with is hanging baskets. I was keen to get the contrast between the local architecture, the reflective lake and the encircling mountains in a pen and wash technique.

On a ferry cruise on Lake Iseo in Italy we visited this pretty lakeside town with is hanging baskets. I was keen to get the contrast between the local architecture, the reflective lake and the encircling mountains in a pen and wash technique.

I was heavily influenced by parents who were always painting and sketching on holiday so I naturally followed suit and experimented with oils and acrylics before concentrating on watercolours. I belong to two local art groups in Devon, England and regularly show at exhibitions. I am fortunate to be able to accept commissions and sell my paintings, prints and cards at local galleries and retail outlets. My paints are always with me on holiday (which is often in Italy) and I am regularly visiting Dartmoor National Park, which is on my doorstep and a continuous source of inspiration.
