Biography
Peng Nghia is a contemporary Belgian painter whose artistic journey is fueled by a profound fascination with people, colors, and emotions. Inspired by the intricate tapestry of human experiences, his paintings serve as poignant reflections of this fascination. Employing a combination of acrylic and ink on canvas, his latest collection embodies a captivating fusion of life scenes and portraits, characterized by their occasional brutality, flawlessness, modernity, and subtle allure.
In 1995, Peng embarked on his artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts of Boitsfort in Brussels, where he immersed himself in the live models course under the tutelage of Peter Shuppissher. It was here that his relentless exploration of the human form began, marking it as his primary subject of investigation and contemplation. Delving into various techniques, Peng's artistic evolution led him to gravitate towards acrylic as his preferred medium. Its versatility allows for swift, spontaneous gestures, enabling him to capture moments of raw authenticity with ease.
Today, Peng's artistic expression knows no bounds as he fearlessly wields his hands to scratch, collage, and inscribe upon his canvases. Painting serves as his ultimate form of liberation, providing him with an outlet to articulate himself without constraint or limitation.
