More than ever, I appreciate that I my ancestors came to America in 1856, not through Ellis Island, but through the borders in the Southwest. As I was searching, searching for my Higuera roots at Ancestory . com, I discovered my Carvajal roots there on a microfiche. Awe, to know where I came from, to know that my family struggled and worked to be part of this Nation. So, today, I give you Ellis Island through pictures that I took in 2004. Enjoy each photograph completely as they speak millions.
