It all started with simple face sketches - says Paweł Alan Motyka, the author of digarts, i.e. digital images, admitting that when he was drawing, he could never find the perfect line of facial contours or show the correct anatomy.

– And since abstraction didn't interest me either, it made it impossible to convey my own thoughts, so I started experimenting – adds the artist, who as a child would lock himself in a room to draw a story.

– I was guided by my imagination – says the artist, admitting that he has always sought peace and solace in drawing, and developed his technique by trial and error.

– First, I combined a sketch with oil painting, and then I also combined it with digital art, i.e. digital painting on a computer – confesses Paweł Alan Motyka, who for a long time showed his works only to his closest ones and kept them in a drawer.

“Sometimes I would come back to them after years to add a detail or change something,” says the artist, who today already presents several hundred paintings on his website.

– What I like about the technique I have chosen is its originality – says Paweł Alan Motyka, emphasizing that combining computer techniques with oil painting is hardly recognized and accepted in the world, but he likes to be different, and this technique allows him to create something original and new in painting.

- I first create drawings using the usual technique, i.e. a graphite pencil and a fineliner, and then with the help of a scanner or a good photograph, I transfer it to the computer, creating my digarts and working on them at subsequent stages - says the artist, revealing that he refines each work to transfer it from the screen on a support with oil technique, and this stage is always accompanied by music, listening to which stimulates his imagination.

– I like dark and slightly surreal themes – confesses Paweł Alan Motyka, admitting that he is attracted to them by chaos, which, in his opinion, fits nicely with color, giving the images created in this way a specific character.
