Born on March 18, 1947, Jean Gérald Sevilla grew up under the North African sun where his parents pursued careers as civil servants in education.
Boudnib in Tafilalet, Kasbahtadla, Meknes and then Marrakech mark his itinerant childhood in Morocco.
Very early on, he spent more time drawing than studying and the status of 'good student' became evident. is naturally reserved for him by his drawing teachers with whom he will always be unanimous.
In Meknes, he works with the artist- painterEdmond Valès, then a drawing teacher at the Paul Valéry high school.
In Marrakech, he worked in the workshop of the painterCharles Holbing, then a drawing teacher at the Lycée Ibn Abbad.
For three years, Stéphane Magnard was his drawing teacher at the Victor Hugo high school in Marrakech.
In 1972, he discovered watercolor with the watercolor painter Gérard Capou in Cordes sur Ciel.
Jean Gérald Sevilla exhibited for the first time time in 1971, and proved prolific until 1978, when he left Morocco. Subsequently, he prioritized his teaching career. In 1994, he reconnected with the public with the Sidi Dhrif exhibition in Tunisia.
