Je vous présente cette oeuvre de jeunesse réalisée et offerte en décembre 1977 aux parents d'un de mes copains qui me recevaient à l'époque très régulièrement chez eux et des fois pendant plusieurs jours. La semaine dernière, j'ai été invité par ce copain que je n'avais pas revu depuis de nombreuses années et qu'elles n'ont pas été ma surprise puis ma joie de redécouvrir ce tableau récupéré au décès de sa mère et conservé chez lui depuis.
Je suis d'autant plus heureux qu'il a tenu à me le restituer en souvenir d'eux, bien qu'il y soit attaché m'a t'il dit.

Cette oeuvre, je l'avais baptisée "Les Seigneurs". Je garde donc ce titre même si aujourd'hui je lui donnerais sans doute un tout autre nom.
On retrouve la plupart des éléments qui à l'époque m'inspiraient fortement; à savoir, des têtes sans visage auréolées d'un triangle blanc, des formes géométriques multiples et variées en 3D et une lune.
On constate dans ce tableau que j'ai été le précurseur du bustier au soutien-gorge conique que Jean Paul Gaultier créa en 1984 pour sa collection Barbès et repris ensuite pour les concerts de Madonna ;-))

Painting Pastel

Pastel is an instrument widely used in plastic arts. Taking the form of a colored plastic stick, it is composed of pigments, a filler (chalk or plaster) and a binder (gum arabic, oil, wax). We mainly distinguish fatty pastels (oil or wax), dry pastels, whether soft or hard. Invented in Europe at the end of the 15th century, this tool was very quickly used by great portrait painters of French royalty, such as Charles Le Brun, Rosalba Carriera, Jean Siméon Chardin or Maurice Quentin de La Tour, who will be considered the "Prince of pastellists", thanks to a method of fixation of which only he knew the secret.

Pastel

Drawing made with a colored stick. It consists of pigments, a charge and a binder. A distinction is made between dry pastels (soft or hard) and fatty pastels (oil or wax).

Surrealism

Founded in 1923 by the writer André Breton, it will unite many artists like Salvador Dali (1904-1989), Max Ernst, René Magritte (1898-1967), Victor Brauner (1903-1966). Influenced by psychoanalysis, they see psychic life as a new field for renewing the arts. They will develop new ways to create and use new materials.

Patrice Preveirault

France

Patrice Preveirault, artist born on November 9, 1956 in Lyon, has always been driven by a passion for drawing and painting from an early age. His artistic career is marked by a constant search for harmony between the subjects he represents, whether figurative or abstract, and the rectilinear and curved geometric shapes that surround them. This artistic fusion has become his true “trademark”.

Although Patrice has developed his own artistic signature, he does not hesitate to explore figurative and surrealist painting from time to time, testifying to his infinite creativity and his desire to renew himself.

His first steps in art saw him working with Indian ink and watercolor, but over the years he developed a marked preference for oil painting on medium or large format canvases. , gouache and dry pastel. Drawing also occupies a central place in his creative process, with most of his paintings being the subject of several successive sketches.

Creativity, technique and precision are fundamental values for Patrice. He finds interest in all genres of painting, as long as they embody these values.

Unfortunately, a significant part of his artistic production from the years 1977-1978 and 1985-1995 has not been preserved in photographs or originals. Nevertheless, Patrice strives to comment on most of his works to facilitate understanding of his work and help the public understand the inspirations and motivations that led to their creation.
