Evolution (2019) Sculpture by Paolo Tazzini

My story is that of a self-made sculptor grown on his own. Since I was a boy I lived the world of stone up close, in fact I come from a family of marble workers who worked in the province of Massa Carrara for a long time. From this environment I learned about marbles, granites and precious stones, understanding their nature and discovering the secrets of processing, the joys and pains they can give.After classical studies and graduation I have never ceased to cling to the world of sculptural art and to follow its evolution. From these premises the first works were born, and then the second, and finally the achievement of an artistic maturity that sees materialize in the plasticity of the stone a philosophical conception of harmony of opposites, an evolution from the simple to the complex in a path of creation that leaves the sign in the works and questions the viewer who caresses them with his eyes and his hands. Yes ... because the idea is that the sculpture creates the desire to touch the work, to touch it, to walk around it, to wonder what is the message that the artist wanted to express, what the emotion he has guided the chisel to tear the shape from the stone.
