The paintings by a prominent Slovak artist Orest Dubay do not leave anyone cold. They are especially fond of cultured paint lovers, those who like the soft and gradual passage of one color to the second, a varied game of light and colors and the harmony of shapes. From his paintings, he immediately senses how lovingly and sensitively he is painting and inserting all his soul into them. Works of Orest Dubay belong to right among the top paintings of contemporary modern abstract and op-art painting.

Orest Dubay is a contemporary Slovak artist. His art activity is concentrated on graphic arts (silk-screen printing), painting and computer graphic art. Dubay’s work is based on intuitive drawing with shapes resembling reality. From plastic, complicated, abstract compositions come to simplified shapes, created by one closed line bordering surfaces of clean colors.
The artist develops his own program to form an area in space since computer graphics also fascinate him. In the beginning he uses a combination of silk screen painting with so called wire graphics, later, with the technical development he uses laser printers and creates virtual space subjects - digital sculptures and simple animations of 3d subjects. He is not searching for complicated philosophical explanations of his works, he bases everything on his intuitive imaginations and understanding of beauty in simplicity and purity.
Orest Dubay was born in 1954, in Slovakia, where he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design.
