Black ink drawing of white chrysanthemum bud. From my series Pen and ink drawings.
Small size and delicate, with beautiful details.
Created in classical pen and ink technique.
I use metal pen an draw with ink without any preliminary sketching. It is spontaneous, but in the same time you have to be very focused not to make a mistake, because it can not be correct.

Nives Palmić is a painter and art teacher. Her principle is to achieve uniqueness, not imitate anyone or anything: she wants to be completely honest in her work. She understands that her role is to be a messenger and not just a marketer, and sees the importance of art in communication, to remind people of all that is essential for humans. She is influenced by the art of ancient cultures, such as medieval and Persian miniature painting.
Nives Palmić was born in 1961 in Croatia. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. Today, she works as an art teacher, as well as a mentor and reviewer for art exhibitions. Nives Palmić is also the author of a popular how-to book "From Drawing to Painting", published in 2011.
In recent years, she has flourished in abstract painting and applied art such as painting and fabric printing. But today, she focuses primarily on drawing. She has achieved optimal expression by using and mastering classical drawing techniques such as graphite pencil, charcoal, ink and pastel.
Her sources of inspiration are mainly natural forms, fascination with plants, flowers, trees and, on the other hand, ornament as a means of visual expression of ideas. Texture is essential in his drawings, reflecting the character of each motif and adding a sensual dimension.
