Uruguayan living in Brazil, Nibbes is a painter with a celestial soul who crosses borders with his colorful works in search of the imbalance of his forms. Forms that escape academic symmetry, and that immerse us in a unique, particular universe, permeated with joy.
Nibbes has lived in Brazil since 1998 and has held exhibitions in Uruguay and participated in Biennials as a guest artist; standing out at the Biennale of the Republic of South Korea in 1997, exhibiting his mixed technique of encaustic on canvas. The artist is represented by Art Galleries in Canada, the United States, Brazil and Uruguay. His first contacts with Painting took place in 1965 | 1967 at Colégio Liceu Onze de Cerro, in Montivideo, where he was a student of painters Luiz Azevedo and Torres Garcia.
1970 | 1980 - He was represented by the Art Galleries of Canada and New York, with his works put up for auction by Sothebys NY, as a South American artist alongside important names such as Torres Garcia, Pedro Figari and José Cúneo. 1984 | 1990 holds exhibitions in Uruguay and participates in Biennials, highlighting the Biennial of the Republic of South Korea in 1997. In 2011, his exhibition "Carlitos, está Amando?" arrives at the Zumbi dos Palmares Cultural Space of the Chamber of Deputies in Brasíia.
