I am living in Australia for last 4 years and like to explore its secrets and history. I decided to do an art roaftrip to Mungo lake that inspired me to create this painting.
I wanted to visit this sacred ancient place because the skeletons found in the sands of the lunette are the "oldest known fully modern humans outside of Africa", meaning that Mungo Lady and Mungo Man were the oldest human remains found in Australia to that date.
The shape of the artwork is the shape of the dry Mungo Lake that became a desert.
It was such a special trip. To paint this artwork in the desert felt like a dream. I was also excited to drive campervan for first time. We visited amazing landscapes, drink coffee at the most uncommon places, created and enjoyed the true meditation - life itself.
When painting is turned, there is a shape of a man, I believe it could be Mungo man. A painting can be hang in different ways as it is an abstract.
It was also my healing journey as each dot means time..and I was in a pain last weeks of creating. Each dot was an art therapy, present moment but step to the future too. Each dot takes us/me closer to the destination.
