Someone once said that we need just three things in life:
Something we love doing, something to look forward to
and someone to Love...
So here is the Second Painting on the series i am doing
on the types of Love.
Today's Painting is About Eros...
The Desire a person feels for wholeness or completeness,
an appreciation of beauty, within and without...
The attraction in between two lovers.
Eros is the face of the energy of Love,
the desire to create Life and an emotional connection.
The symbolism in this painting
is somewhat different from the Norm.
Symbolically speaking, Usually the female is seen
as the receiver and the male as the giver.
Since i believe these qualities are present in both sexes,
I have portrayed the male figure in a receiving body posture,
outreaching towards the female, and in contrast
the woman is portrayed here as the giver.
She is giving of herself, of her beauty
as she gently takes off her clothes...
The point is to emphasize that both sexes
Feel, give and receive Beauty, Eros, Love...
It's a mutual affair, when the energy of Eros
in their search for each other,
attracts and connects them both...
And so, Under a full moon rising
the appreciation of beauty is made whole,
As Their bodies become One.
Ancient lovers believed a kiss would literally
unite their souls, because the spirit was said
to be carried in one's breath...
- Eve Glicksman
Passion, it lies in all of us, sleeping... waiting...
and though unwanted... unbidden... it will stir,
open it's jaws and howl.
It will speak to us... guide us...
Passion rules us all, and we obey.
If we could live without passion
maybe we'd know some kind of peace...
but we would be hollow...
Empty rooms shuttered and dank.
Without passion we'd be truly Dead
- Josh Whedon
The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen
nor touched... but are felt with the heart
- Helen Keller
For i must tell you that we Artists cannot tread the path of Beauty
without Eros keeping company with us and appointing himself
as our guide...
