Murat Bakır was born in Diyarbakır in 1981. He completed his high school education at Antalya College Science High School. He graduated from Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Mechanical Engineering Department in 2002. He has been involved in many international projects in Antalya and Istanbul since 2003.

Since 2012, he has continued his professional painting work, which has been a passion for him since his childhood. He attended workshops and trainings led by important painters of Turkey. He was awarded the 1st place in Turkey in the national category in the watercolor painting competition organized by IWS (International Watercolor Society) in 2014. He participated in his first international group exhibition at the IWS Watercolor Biennial held in Cappadocia the same year, and in the group painting exhibition organized by Fabriano Kagit in Italy in 2015.

The artist continues his painting works in his workshop in Istanbul.
