Love in Times of Corona (2020) Photography by Monika Cherkaoui

Since I was allowed to use the camera of my father at the age of 9 I am taking photos. He as stonemason and sculptor I learned the basics of harmony of color and form, geometry and perspective. My general interest for art was systematic sponsored, but as career not down to earth enough :-)  For that I learned something "decent" and stayed on the field of photography autodidact. Still, wherever I go, my camera is with me.  

My search for and my message is beauty. One of my several mediums to express myself and to document my idea of beauty is photography. I believe, that significant beauty is visible only if you open your heart, try to have a look onto the soul and start loving what you see, what you feel, what or whom you meet on your way through life - even it might be difficult sometimes. I try to discover it everywhere, but sometimes it simply shows itself in unexpected moments. I would like, if you can discover parts of my encounters, my life, of me with a peak through my eyes in my images and are a bit happier for the rest of your day :-)
