Le pentagramme est une figure géométrique connue depuis l'aube de l'humanité et utilisée par de nombreuses civilisations. Il est figuré par une étoile à cinq branches, parfois inscrit dans un cercle. Le nombre 5, symbole de l'homme, représente l'union et la synthèse des forces complémentaires, des microcosme et macrocosme. Paracelse accordait au pentagramme une puissance extraordinaire. Les Pythagoriciens y voyaient un symbole doté d'un fort pouvoir de conjuration qui permettait également d'acquérir une grande puissance. Le pentagramme est aussi nommé "ugeira", il est associé dans la mythologie grecque à Hygie, déesse de la santé, de la propreté et de l'hygiène. En Franc-maçonnerie, le pentagramme est l’Étoile flamboyante, la lumière qui accompagne et guide le génie vers le chemin de la connaissance.
Il est important de tracer l'étoile à 5 branches d'un trait ininterrompu. Selon les proportions sacrées du nombre d'or, le pentagramme exprime l'harmonie céleste ou spirituelle. On y intègre parfois les 5 sens ou les 5 éléments (comme dans la Wicca). Une pomme coupée dans sa largeur forme avec ses pépins une étoile à 5 branches, d'où sa référence à Vénus, déesse de la séduction.

Mona Bessaa is a multidisciplinary artist (painting, drawing, photography). Since 2012, following a diligent practice of yoga and inspired by the images that have arisen in states of deep meditation, her pictorial practice has taken a new direction. The circle structured around a central point has become obvious in the creation of mandalas. Mandalas inviting the four (or five) elements and the cardinal points as in the Celtic or Native American medicine wheel. The sacred geometry of the builders is also present in both its physical and spiritual dimension. Each work is an ode in consciousness to who we are, to our subtle body (represented by the chakras), to the beauty and generosity of Mother Earth, to her fauna, her flora, to show her gratitude, respect and attention. . Today, down to earth, she works with porcelain in a ceramic workshop. And, with her head in the stars, she explores the Moon through a series of paintings entirely dedicated to her representations.
Mona Bessaa lives and works in Paris (France). She holds a Doctorate Thesis in Art Aesthetics. Option: plastic arts. obtained in Paris in 2003.
