Miroslav Mlkvik is a contemporary Slovak sculptor. Drawing and painting as a young age marked the beginning of his artistic journey. The painter Stefan Mishuda, his next-door neighbor, served as his inspiration. But, after seeing and holding some folk-carved wooden sculptures, he put his painting and drawing aside. Mlkvik began attending the art high school, majoring in art and craft woodworking, and after that studied in the department of artistic sculpting at the Krakow-based Academy of Sztuk Pieknych im. Jan Matejka. In 2020, he received his MA in Fine Arts from The Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow's Faculty of Sculpture. He has been engaged in the production of artistic sculptures and monuments for several years.
