Mícheál Ó'Muirthile is a national prize-winning artist whose forte includes equine art, landscape and portraiture paintings & drawings. His work is in private collections throughout Ireland, England, continental Europe, America, Canada, Australia and the Middle East. Contact Mícheál at firstname.lastname@example.org.
He is greatly influenced by his local place and by the immense pool of inspirational detail that is available throughout the island of Ireland.
“The artist..........is also a born adventurer. His explorations, unlike those of the tourist, are rewarded by the discovery of beauty spots unmentioned in the guide books, and with tireless curiosity and an exceptional proneness to wonderment, he will come upon objects of remarkable interest overlooked or even shunned by more disciplined observers.” These wise words by Augustus John, R.A., could not be bettered in providing a mental picture of where the artist Mícheál Ó’Muirthile centres his creativity.
He currently lives in the beautiful Lee valley and his people hailed from south of Dunmanway nearby to Ballinacarriga Castle, the seat of the Ó’Muirthile clan in West Cork.
