I was born in Belgium, but now I live in France for more than 10 years.From an early age, I've had a special connection to the Art.So it was obvious that I chose for an artschool to have a good base to start with.I started with watercolor and during the years I have explored and experimented different kinds of styles and techniques.I painted in many mediums but finally I like painting with a palette knife. Mostly in acrylic and often in bright colors. I love the rich, thick impasto texture that you acquire with the knife.I find my inspiration in nature , in life around me, in music and emotions.Because I want to explore all the time, painting alone wasn't enough anymore.I always wanted to make sculptures but didn't find the right thing corresponding for me.I like to keep control over a piece from the beginning to the end.I met an other artist who worked with scrap metal and when I saw it, I knew it, this is what I was looking for.I like to work with used materials, which have a particular patine and the traces of a life before. I like the idea of giving a second life to recycled reclaimed metal. Create new life from old.I have been selling art for several years in galleries, now I'm trying it online, so more people around the world can enjoy my work.Thank you for your support and interest in my artwork.Art is my passion.Luc Maes
