Alain Louiset, a contemporary French artist, was born in the picturesque coastal town of Sainte-Adresse, Normandy, France in 1964. Raised amidst the serene landscapes of Normandy, Louiset's early years were infused with the essence of the region's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
Following his passion for art, Louiset eventually settled in Le Havre, where he both lives and works to this day. Le Havre, with its bustling harbor and vibrant city life, became not only his home but also a profound source of inspiration for his artistic endeavors.
At the core of Louiset's artistic oeuvre lies his fascination with the pop rock culture of the '60s and '70s, which he seamlessly integrates into his work. For his series "Cut Container" everything began when he was trapped in traffic behind a container truck, and the colorful metal box fascinated him, and he recognized the container could be a perfect foundation for his works. The artist calls it "obsessive compulsive container", and his unique technique is cutting PVC and metal from recovery on containers in order to make paintings, 3D portraits.

BIOGRAPHIE
Je suis né en 1964 au Havre, ville d'Art et d'Histoire selon son blason. Issu d'un milieu ouvrier aux valeurs trempées dans le travail, l'art à la maison se résumait à l'accroche annuel du calendrier des postes.
Au plus loin que je me souvienne, aucun gêne artistique dans ma généalogie ; alors parlons de vocation ! Allez comprendre pourquoi Picasso & Verlaine me parlaient plus que Georges Marchais !
A 13 ans, choix d'orientation, je rêve d'Ecole d'Art mais "pas de ça chez nous" se sera celui d'un "métallo" entre fraiseuse & étau.
Aux premiers salaires, je rentre aux Beaux-Arts par la petite porte, les cours du soir, Histoire de l'Art & section peinture. Je peins 10 ans sans satisfaction.
1997, Le Havre organise une expo du monde ouvrier, je lâche les pinceaux, assemble objets et rebus qui traînent dans l'atelier, soude, colle et prend conscience que la matière est mon élément, la dimension supplémentaire qui me faisait défaut dans la peinture.
Souder, riveter, autant de termes purement métallique ; a bien y réfléchir, il n'y a peut-être pas de hasard !
2006 - ETAT DES LIEUX
Il m'arrive souvent de considérer le sac poubelle comme une monstruosité de la civilisation contemporaine. J'en veux pour preuve le souvenir de ces années 70 où l'on pouvait à loisir soulever le couvercle de ces poubelles comme on le ferait d'un coffre, et découvrir ici un jouet cassé, là un transistor.
J'avais dix ans, j'ignorais qu'un jour la ville n'aurait plus cette poésie. Effacer l'homme, ne reste que des sacs plastiques anonymes.
Je regrette ce temps béni d'autant plus fort aujourd'hui, puisqu'il aurait grandement nourri mon travail. Alors me voilà désormais paléontologue urbain ! Je fouille nos cités, nos décharges à la recherche de ce vieux jouet, de cette boite en ferraille au relief rouillé… Demain, elle sera nettoyée, découpée, modelée, pour devenir un nez, une oreille, je n'en sais encore rien, simple pièce d'un puzzle dont j'ignore le motif.
Il existe cependant un malentendu sur mon travail, je ne suis pas plus qu'un autre un fervent défenseur du recyclage et aucun drapeau vert ne flotte au-dessus de l'atelier. J'utilise nos déchets non pas pour faire passer un message ou une prise de conscience, ou toute autre dénonciation.
Ils sont à mes yeux ce que peut l'être un fémur de dinosaure, une trace, un vestige de notre histoire… Quant aux œuvres, elles parlent d'elles-mêmes.
