Biography
Jérôme Royer is a contemporary award-winning French artist. Royer's artistic work is centered on the connections between beings and the universe, as a result of his quantum meditation study.
His portraits oscillate between figurative and abstract art and mix the real with the imaginary. From his expressive work to the techniques he employs, martial arts, particularly boxing, meditation, and tai chi chuan, have impacted his paintings. Brushstroke detail coexists with the spontaneity of curves in his compositions, resulting in a dialogue between colors and shapes.
Jérôme Royer was born in 1975, in France. His work has been a part of multiple solo and collective exhibitions in France, notably in Paris and in Reims.

My Artistic Process
Painting is one of my forms of meditation.
I work on colors and lightd
Inspiration can come from:
· a model that calls me by her beauty, her attitude, her eyes ... and then I integrate it into
an unexpected world.
· Or conversely begin work on colors or textures and see a face appear.
The look is attracted to a place and, from depth to depth of color, the shape becomes palpable but at the same time it disappears.

In all my paintings there is a fixed point where the color disappears and the gaze begins its journey ... or finishes it.
This point is fundamental, it is very often represented by a circular or spiral form ... (Most of the time it's the eyes).
It's a bit like the "big bang", the point at the instant zero, without which the rest can't exist.
My leitmotiv is to transform reality, combine figurative and abstract.
My paintings are a quantum representation of our universe.
We transform each moment, each person encountered changes our personality and our physical. We define ourselves according to the view of others, I want my paintings to resemble what the viewer sees or what he imagines of them ... they are different according to the viewer.

Jérôme Royer est né à Reims en 1975, et vie actuellement à Fontenay-sous-Bois (94).
Autodidacte, il commence à dessiner aux crayons et crayons de couleur (Prismacolor entre autre), en se contentant de reproduire des images, des portraits… Petit à petit un chemin se dessine, il peut et ose enfin, découvrir l’aquarelle. C’est alors que tout a changé. Une évidence lui apparait : dessiner ou peindre, ce n’est pas simplement une copie d’image, mais essayer de transformer la réalité, de laisser son imagination s’écouler à travers son pinceau.
Son style est basé sur la liberté dans la structure ceci est peut-être dû à sa formation en architecture et son métier de dessinateur en bâtiment, mais aussi la douceur dans l’expression de la force, avec toujours en tête cette idée de dualité.
Son travail est essentiellement en aquarelle, encre noire et gel blanc.
