Antonio Fumagalli

Giussano, Italy
Artist (Sculpture, Installation)
Born 1969

Antonio Fumagalli was born in Mariano C.se, lives and works in Brianza in Giussano.
For years he has combined architecture with art and teaching.
His research allowed him to experiment and subsequently create an approach to art and a personal style that have as their distinctive feature the use of an ancient but absolutely innovative material in the artistic field: leather.
The study and in-depth knowledge of this material and its processing techniques have led to a purely artistic use of leather. The piece of leather is no longer used as a simple support material for bags, straps, etc., but as an instrument of expression, like oil colors for the painter or marble for the sculptor.
His works, as he himself claims, should not just be looked at: they should be touched, enjoyed and perceived directly by the observer.
In addition to personal exhibitions, the artist has participated in various group exhibitions in Milan, Turin, Rome, Naples, Monza, Novara, Livorno, San Marino, in Trentino, Veneto and abroad: Lugano, London... His works are exhibited in: Milan, Monza, Rho (Mi), Uboldo di Saronno (Va), Carate B.za (Mb), Giussano (Mb), Seregno (Mb), Rovereto (Tn).
He is among the permanent artists of the Weart Gallery in Uboldo, Saronno (Va).
