Meenakshi Jha Banerjee is a contemporary painter by profession, working consistently for the past 20 years in Bihar (INDIA). Her roots are deep sown in Madhubani, a district of North Bihar, internationally known for the vivid and vibrant panorama of tradition, embedded in the folk paintings of the region.

She is best known for her experimentations with the traditional elements of Mithila art forms. Over the years, she has evolved a signature style of her own where the feelings, emotions, elements, intricacies and tradition of Madhubani paintings are merged with current subjects, modern medium and contemporary skill, in a diversified dimension. She majorly works with acrylic on stretched canvass.

Initially she practiced and mastered the traditional and colloquial techniques, but as she matured, she started responding to social actions and contemporarisation. Her works are Inspired by the intricate simplicity of the folk art which she inherited and the vibrancy of modern masters, which she admires. Her signature style has a balanced influence of both.

Every piece of her work has minute and intricate detailing which reflects the skill and multiple layering/patching on selective areas reflecting the understanding of the palate and mood.

Her works are in collections and displays at various Government and Corporate organizations like Offices of Govt. of Bihar, Buddha International Museum, Patna Indian Railways, Airport Authority, Life insurance corporation of India, Unicef, ITC, IFFCO etc.

Organisations like Indian oil, Kalyanpur cement , Allahabad bank, Indian army, have also patronized her works.

Recently one of her works has been published as a cover in Australia under the Auspices of #Incredible India movement, jointly by the Ministries of Tourism of the either countries, and now a part of The National Library of Australia. Of late she was very much in news for having painted her own car as a part of public art, which she rides.

Besides these her works are in collections of private buyers in India and abroad. Her works are available on online portals .

Her collectors are from Europe, USA, Canada Africa and major metros of India, who regularly patronize her works through the internet. Her works are available on exhibition and sale in galleries round the year.
