He starts from personal black and white photos on which He intervenes manually to try to bring frozen moments back to life. It does not seek to describe reality. Beyond what is offered to us, there is for him the look that we have on things... what emotions, desires or feelings cross us in front of a landscape for example? What consequences can this moment have and what part of it will be preserved in our memory?... are all questions that interest him.

He does not seek to take beautiful photos, even less "perfect" photos, He wants to take photos that we want to caress, photos where we can hear the sound of the waves, feel the wind in the trees and approaching storm.

Drawing his inspiration from Nature, the street, others, the discovery of new places, beauty that is good (and beauty can be everywhere), and often words, his work is distinguished by a new light.

Maxime Tauban lives and works in Clermont-Ferrand, France. His work is present in many private collections.
