Martine Salendre uses the dry pastel with her personal and effective style, abundance of colors and materials which she applies directly using the hand, so getting rid of every intermediary. Her fingers become the continuation of her eyes and thought and give a surprising work.
Nature is her favourite theme and more particularly trees. Her dreamlike version which lets burst her search for peace, full of contained sensual delight and felt-like sensualism in an harmonious and elegant virtuosity, is a pure visual delight and a quiet invitation to serenity.
Pastelliste by passion, Martine Salendre expresses in this medium the enjoyment, the freedom to create, the purity of her vision and goes from success to success, beginning a trip which from Jura leads her to Burgundy then Lausanne by way of Paris, soon Lyon, and is still hesitating on her future destinations.
Daughter of an architect, she rapidly shows a talent for the drawing and the creative arts, but her real artistic personality will only be revealed in 1998. It is in the course of her personal life that this strong aspiration has become her real passion with the irresistible envy of giving. Her representational style evolves in her personal sensibility.
