Marie Lorraine Papelier was born in Toulon.

Her summer vacation with her grandfather, photographer, the strong colors of the Mediterranean had a strong impact on her sensitivity and her imagination as well as the travel stories of her father, a naval officer.

She first took theater classes, then moved towards painting and attended several workshops in the Paris region.

27 years ago, she moved to Normandy with her family.

She enrolled in the Bleu-vert-mer workshop in Trouville where she works mainly in oil painting, tackling numerous subjects and in particular themes linked to the sun, travel and exotic countries.

Then little by little, impregnated by the colors of the Normandy, other subjects imposed themselves on her and in particular the sky and the sea.

While following Yves Riguidel's classes, she experimented with other techniques; watercolor, Indian ink, dry pastel and acrylic.

10 years ago she joined forces with 5 other artists to create "La Little Gallery in Honfleur to promote artists. She permanently exhibits her works there.

If she paints rather figurative subjects, she seeks to give them a personal and sensitive interpretation.

“Through the work of the material, whether it is oil or acrylic: creamy, generous, luminous, or dry pastel and its delicate powder, the important thing for me is to transpose and transmit energy, pleasure, “emotion, taste for colors and harmony which are at the origin of my creativity and my desire to paint”
