Marleen was born in 1981 in the east part of Germany where she still lives and works. 

She grew up in a small idyllic village in the beautiful green heart of Germany.
At the age of 20, painting stepped into her life.

As an autodidact she started with watercolor painting, later she also added acrylic painting. Acrylic painting is the prominent part of her life today.
Experimental and abstract works of art develop, which are composed by diverse materials. Marleen works with different structural pastes, sand, various types of paper, wood, wire, mirror and all things she can find. However, the passion towards experimental expression drives her search for new materials.
Her life is characterized by 2 passions, her work as an event technician and the painting.
Event technician work is very versatile and irregular. She is physically challenged by the regular assembly and construction of technical equipment and even creative when creating lighting designs and programming light shows for concerts and events.
The painting stands on the other. The thoughts of Marleen are colorful and confused, sometimes crazy and confusing and rise to her works. There's never a plan or even a sketch. It just happens.
With the help of the painting she found another level of creativity, which perfectly balances out her life.
