In this period when everyone is advancing masked, Labaud gives a rather playful version of the subject: the artist likes masks, but turns around, offers looks behind the mask, characters who remove their mask to reveal no face, etc. . Sometimes the mask is reminiscent of a childish universe version Barbapapa, sometimes it turns to horror film or streetart where the mask emerges from the graffiti. In short, the artist does not refrain from anything on the technical side as long as he renews his version of the masked man.

“My work refers to appearances and figures, to the hidden face of each ... The figure is here, in what I want to show, social iconography, sexual symbol, aesthetic fantasy. Whether the character is alone or in the middle of a crowd, it is always a question of going beyond appearances ”.
