The Giclée art print is a new and contemporary printing medium that meets the highest demands placed on graphics by artists, museums and art collectors. As a result, the Giclée art print has gained an equal place between the more well-known traditional graphic techniques such as etching, screen printing and stone lithography. Various museums in the world exhibit Giclees instead of the original artwork. This also shows that the Giclée is a high-quality work.

Ludwig Willem Reymert (Willem) Wenckebach, ('s-Gravenhage, 12 January 1860 - Santpoort, 25 June 1937), best known as Willem Wenckebach, was a Dutch painter, illustrator, book designer and graphic artist. Like many artists of his time, he made both applied and free work. With his applied work, Willem Wenckebach became one of the best-known and most prolific illustrators and graphic designers of his time,[1] and he is best known for his watercolours for the Verkade albums of Jac. P. Thijsse. He made illustrations for these albums with, among others, Jan Voerman jr. and Jan van Oort. In Amsterdam, Wenckebach also remained known for the many pen drawings he made between 1898 and 1907 of old Amsterdam. These were published in the Nieuws van de Dag. Later, the drawings were published several times in book form.
