Loris Lamunière, born in 1983, lives and works in Paris, France. A visionary photographer, he is the author of the DAR(K)WIN project, a fictional wildlife documentary series that plunges us into a distant and imaginary future where underwater life as we know it has been replaced by a new generation of species, made entirely of plastic. This dystopian vision results from the massive pollution of the oceans by human activity, profoundly disrupting ecosystems and giving rise to new underwater mutants. Created by a team of artists, this project reinterprets Charles Darwin's theory of evolution in light of the consequences of mass consumption in our current civilization.
Among his achievements is also the OBSOLESCENCE series, an interpretation of the biosphere carried out by artificial intelligence, exploring the confines of the infinitely large and the infinitely small. His captivating photographs transport us into worlds of strange beauty, testifying to the incessant genesis of our universe and provoking reflection on our place in it.
Finally, the PETRA STELLA project takes us on a nocturnal exploration carried out from 2016 to 2018 in Bonifacio. Through long exposures and careful treatment of the image, Loris Lamunière reveals the secrets of this nature, both mineral and gaseous, luminous and dark. His photographs invite us to question the future of our cosmogonies and to rediscover the great mythological stories that have shaped our vision of the world for millennia.
