"I can't think of anything to say except...I think it's marvelous! HaHaHa!" Unfortunately, these lyrics are the last lines of "Brain Damage", not the following song "Eclipse" which was the inspiration for this piece. The darkening shades of orange and yellow reminded me of the effects on sunlight as it seeks[...]
"I can't think of anything to say except...I think it's marvelous! HaHaHa!" Unfortunately, these lyrics are the last lines of "Brain Damage", not the following song "Eclipse" which was the inspiration for this piece. The darkening shades of orange and yellow reminded me of the effects on sunlight as it seeks to wrap around a solid object in its path. They also reminded me of cheese colors, and since the moon is theoretically made out of fromage (a theory that has since had many holes poked in it), the lunar reference seemed appropriate. The technical aspects and merits of this painting are not relevant when one is on the dark side of the moon.

ljm has applied abstract patterns and design to the color spectrum for 35 years. The paintings are sculptured in canvas, underpinned by a weave pattern and accented with shapes either pasted on top or cut into the surface, resulting in random distortions and imperfections. The geometric color patterns are designed to evoke a calming cerebral sensation, allow one's brain to directly connect with and wander around inside the resulting image.

ljm can best be described as an analytical artist who tries to create a feeling of harmony and zen perfection for the viewer with his eclectic eye candy.
