Born in Auburn, NY in 1938, I have had an intense interest in art since childhood. My early experience included work in a local museum, followed later by two years in northern Italy while in the military. While there I painted a mural at Casserna Ederle, outside Vicenza, and created sets for ballets and amateur threatricals at the Teatro Olimpico. After leaving the military, i entered the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois, studying painting and printmaking under Edwards Betts, Douglas HIlson, Eugenio Tellez, and Dennis Rowan. My exhibition record includes several shows while a student, including one at the Musem of FIne Arts in Boston. For a number of years I had not entered many exhibits largely due to the need to raise a family, but in 1998 I actively began showing work again in the Boston and New England area, as well as submiting work to the Originales Solidarios activities in Barcelona in support of UNICEF.

I also received an invitation to exhibit in the 2003 Florence Biennale d'Arte Contemporanea, but ultimately could not participate because sudden poverty - I lost my job and savings, as well as home and studio and could not afford the cost of shipping works at that time. This circumstance also affected my ability to send work to the Exhibition of Contemporary Art in Rome in 2003, at the Museo Nazionale Garibaldino, to which I had also been invited. At this time I have re-established studio space in the small town of Marston, NC, and will be actively soliciting sales and shows.
