Alain Lestié is a contemporary award-winning French painter. Lestié was a critical figurative painter who questioned the future of painting. This unconventional artist expresses himself with exceptional dexterity using only the Nero pencil and identical Fabriano sheets of paper.
Technical terms that are limited in comparison to the infinite variety of colors that range from black to white through all the shades of grey. Whatever the subject of each painting, whether it be a figure, symbol, or sign that is more or less enigmatic, one can still see the artist's great mastery of color and shape in the brilliance of the grey and black tones, the clarity of the drawing, and the evocative power of a universe that is uniquely his own.
Lestié exhibited his works in galleries and numerous museums and centers for contemporary art, including: Center of Contemporary Art "Le Parvis": À demi-mots, Pau; Domaine Lescombes: From Time to Time, Eysines; Museum of Fine Arts: Sequence in Blacks, Bordeaux; Castre Museum: Journey Through the Window, Cannes; “Le Carré”, Bonnat Museum: Bayonne; Castle of the Dukes of Épernon: Cadillac retrospective; Museum of Fine Arts: Pau retrospective; La Roche sur Yon museum: Retrospective; Centre G. Pompidou: Atelier, Paris; Verranemann Foundation (Kruishouten).
