Village view (2009) Painting by Lela Jobadze

Lela Jobadze was born in Tbilisi, in a family of architects. She grew up in the surrounding of artists and architects, bringing love of art in her life, particularly of painting. She learnt her artistic skills at the Tbilisi Academy of Fine arts, faculty of Interior Design.

In the beginning of her creative activity she started her career at TV as a designer, animator, creating backgrounds for numerous cartoons, participated in local and international exhibitions.

Lela uses various styles in her work. Her early works are executed in watercolor in characteristic expressive freedom. Her art works reflect simplicity and elegancy of the forms; landscapes are presented in a fantastic an unusual way, using the world of own view.
