I started this series like a journey within my self. I choose affirmations of each chakra and cary them to in my thoughts, dream about every chakra and describe this experience with colours and forms. Each of them have healing and transforming energy, but I still believe that my paintings are very gentle and easy to live with. Series is dedicated to all women who dare, care and keep carrying everything forward Love.

“Reflections” is about border between two worlds – like a skin of river or sea, we can’t see under the water, only imagine what could be there. We always have to choose were to be – dive in or flout on waves, or stand still at the banks. Do we know where to belong? Maybe it's all blurred in reflections and at this point we can take it all. Like the moment between dream and wakefulness or night and day is full of mystery and possibilities.

Biography
Marta Leimanes paintings are saturated with tonal solutions. She believes that in painting, tone and stroke have a value of their own and do not need to carry over into images to tell a story. She finds themes at instinct level and lead process of painting intuitively without pre-prepared sketches. When the compositions on the canvas balances with the inner feeling, the painting is complete. This is that harmony that she wants to convey to the viewer. Marta Leimane studied art at the University of Latvia, participated in several group exhibitions, as well as realized two solo exhibitions in the ANDALŪZIJAS SUNS restaurant "Reflections" (2023), in the BUBERTS cafe with the changing exhibition "Neighbourhood " (2022-2023).

struggle is real.. solar chakra from series "seven chakras of women" in progress..
I never thought that this one could be hard, because this was one of my first sketches from this series. But now I struggle with anger and disappointment. Does it always have to be part of creating process? :)))

Look like the representation of a prison , with snakes
yes, I thought about that too... but here one snake for wisdom, the other for sexuality. Since ancient times, the snake has been a symbol of transformation. I meet them and allow myself to be led.. like that
