She was born in the port city of Constanta, on the shores of the Black Sea, to a Croatian father and a Romanian mother. Always passionate about photography, she began by documenting her family's life while working as an advertising professional.
In 2020, Oana finally focused more on her art and identified that her interest lies primarily in the natural world, refining the technique of using a flash with ambient light and sometimes ND filters.
In 2022, following her Sony World Photography Awards win, Aesthetica Magazine wrote, “Baković offers a refreshing take on floral photography.
