A few years ago a friend and I were looking for grapes hanging on the vines in a vineyard in North Stonington, CT. We found grapes!... but when we pulled into their parking lot.. I saw a lovely pond in the distance and said "Let's go see the pond first!"

We took many photos and in the years since, it has never looked so perfect as it did that early fall day.

I had only painted the left side previously, and sold it. I felt I needed to capture the beauty of the whole pond... so, I chose 2 24x30" linen canvases and created my diptich of it. It was accepted into the prestigious Lyme Art Assoc.'s 'New England Landscape' show. I hope to sell it to someone who loves it as much as I do!

“I have always considered myself a ‘fine artist’ first, even after over 33 years working in the graphic arts industry.  As a teenager I was able to take oil painting classes and by high school I was stretching large canvases to paint on with the help of my carpenter father.

Each time I paint I feel something special draws me to a scene, the light and shadows excite me and color adds another dimension as the art evolves. I love capturing beautiful, dynamic images with my camera or I-phone today to use as references.

I am primarily a landscape artist who finds herself gravitating to ‘waterscapes’ much of the time. My paintings are realistic and today I use oils primarily but over the past number of years I had developed a love for pastels due to the graphic quality of them and my love for drawing. With oils I prefer working on smooth surfaces including linen and aluminum which are as smooth as glass and force me to approach my paintings in a different way.

As an artist, I always hope that others will share in the beauty I have found as each painting includes a piece of me and my life's adventures.”
