Laurence Tellier is a contemporary French artist. Tellier's series Fashion Show discreetly co-opts the catwalk's exploitation and sensuous extravaganza.
Bas-relief in sandstone clay, double firing, ceramic enameling, Raku firing, and smoking technique pasted to 3D frame canvases, providing the impression of a painting in volume with a strong sense of movement.
The "alive" character of models walking on a fashion show podium is shown by their hips swaying, while some members prefer to blend into the background. The parades are modern, and the identity of the enameled and carbon-smoked clothing is inspired by Western and European influences.
Laurence Tellier was born in 1958, in France.
