Painter Sculptor

born in 1970 in Valenciennes

It was in 1995 that he decided to make his first exhibition entitled "reliefs and divergences".

In 1997 during an exhibition at the Espace Malraux in Chambéry, he met the painter Rémy Martinetto who allowed him to present his works, a year later, in the medieval village of Conflans in Savoie. Inspired by this medieval side, he tries to give another look at the reflections of life that surround us, the discovery of the world...

In 2001 he became President of the Portbarquais Artists, in Charente Maritime. He set up an exhibition of 150 paintings and 30 sculptures. Today it is the unmissable event for the summer period in Port des Barques (dept 17).

In 2002, on the occasion of the Salon des Arts in La Rochelle, he won the 1st prize of the Regional Council of Poitou Charente with an oil entitled "Bird Island".

In 2003, he was noticed during the exhibition of the UAICF (Painter and Sculptor Railwaymen) and received the 1st Prize for Sculpture with a work called "Vénusienne".

Since 2004, he has continued to participate in numerous events, winning several prizes and

always organizes within Port of the boats in summer period an exhibition whose public does not cease increasing each year...

In January 2007 he joined Drouot quotation des Artistes !!! and at blue cargo of which he became president until 2017

A rebellion against abstract expressionism

Didier LANNOY's Pop Art draws its inspiration from the images of everyday urban life, formatted by the mass media and reacts against the avant-garde of the New York school. These, assimilated to the movement of abstract expressionism, count among its members Jackson Pollock and his technique of dripping, letting paint drip from the end of a stick on the canvas. But also Mark Rothko painting large bands of colors inviting contemplation or meditation.
