Elisabeth Kirstein was born in Austria. Her father is Austrian and lives in Vienna and her mother was French. She grew up in Cannes in the South of France. She was traveling a lot all around the Provence which is such a nice part of France. Aix en Provence, Les Baux,, St Paul de Vence, Eze, Menton and all these little middle aged villages. Drawing was her favorite leisure and she used to paint aquarelle paintings on wood boards that she offered as gifts for all the members of her family. She used to dance ballet and to play the flute.
In primary school she was drawing so well that she was awarded a prize by her teacher and she used to create a poem to go with the drawing. In front of a drawing you can find a poem and a piece of music and the three all together form a work of art.
In 1975 at the age of 14 she took classes of oil painting and she won the first prize.
She used to spend hours in the nature just looking at the beauty of its. From the top of the tree where she was climbing she could have a little image of what paradise is: sunset on the Mediterranean Sea, such as the wonderful landscape in autumn and spring times. Slowly she stored up in her heart und soul all these miracles of nature and developed them in her paintings later on. As a person belonging to two different countries, she also loves Austria, where she used to spend her holidays with her family in a little place called Untertilliach: here also the variety of colors had a strong impact on her.
Very young she painted on objects made of wood such like Austrian people used to do during the cold winter to create objects of decoration. This kind of art is rather naïve and full of emotions and feelings and is based on the nature and the scenery of daily life in Austria.
When she was graduated with the A-levels certificate, she took the skill work: classical painting.
Later on she used to paint with her grand father, who was an artist painter and she has never stopped painting until now.
Full of all this richness of life she has even more been able to develop her own creation in style.
In 1982, she discovered another miracle of life: the birth of her child Lucie.
In 2003 she wrote at the University of Nice her dissertation with the topic” linguistics”.
In 2004, after a painful experience in her life she started with abstract painting as a kind of therapy: and it appeared to be a success that she now definitely wishes to pursue.

“L’art est la divination du spirituel dans et a travers le temporel”.
According to this famous sentence she wishes to reach this meaning thanks to the art and this will be the rule of her life.
She is convinced that art has to be in perpetual movement like the stars in the sky and therefore abstract art can be the right one to allow this idea to become true.
The artist is not only the one who paint but also the one who knows how to observe, for that reason the abstract painter needs the observer to be recognized. So thank you everybody!
