Kelly Foster was born in Washington, D.C. in 1992. Her artistic medium consists of collage, photography and graphic design. She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2014 with a bachelor of fine arts in photography, along with studying at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Beaux Arts in Paris. She has interned with fashion photographers in Los Angeles and New York City and a photography studio in Paris. After graduation she moved to Zagreb, Croatia where she completed her first solo exhibition in Galerija Matice Hrvatske. She plans to continue exhibiting between Croatia and Washington, D.C.
Her work aims to manipulate an existing image to lure the viewer into a void between acceptance and rejection. Her collage work has be classified as "post pop art", taking influences from Pop Art, but recreating them in the digital age, using tools of the internet, photoshop and large scale printing to manipulate and re-create modern pop culture. Coming from a background in fashion photography, she is drawn to the fashion world but aims to critique its contemporary ideals of beauty.
