Julie Esteban

Française née en 1989 à Bordeaux. Photographe professionnelle depuis 10 ans, J.E. travaille différentes techniques picturales pour les conjuguer avec son travail photographique. Le portrait et l’autoportrait sont devenus l’essentiel de son travail.

« Un glissement s’est opéré lorsque j’ai choisi de travailler en argentique et de passer du portrait vers l’abstraction des corps et des visages en jouant avec le clair/obscure. Comme si le flou et les accidents inhérents au regard sur moi m’avaient menée à porter un regard moins net sur les autres. Leurs présences sont mieux ressenties et la matière des corps est appréhendée avec douceur et émotion. »

La matière qu’elle crée lui permet de rendre ses photographies plus vivantes et de cacher ou de suggérer l’âme au-delà des corps.

En 2018, après des années de recherches, elle commence à mettre sur toile ses inspirations qui l’ont nourrie.
Mêlant photographie et peinture, une métamorphose de l’espace vide immaculé de blanc s’opère.

« Comme la photographie fige un instant et préserve ce qui deviendra très vite un souvenir, la résine fige la matière et préserve l’œuvre dans le temps, pour la rendre durable et unique. »

French born in 1989 in Bordeaux, J.E. has been a Professional Photographer for 10 years, mastering various pictorial techniques to combine them with her photographic work.

"A shift occurred when I chose to work with film and moved from conceiving bodies and faces to their abstraction, playing with chiaroscuro. As if the vagueness and the accidents inherent in looking at me had led me to take a less precise look at others.
Their presence are better felt and the material of bodies is apprehended with gentleness and emotion."

The material that she creates allows her to obtain more lively photographs, and to hide or suggest the soul presence beyond the bodies.

In 2018, after years of research, she began to transfer on canvas the inspirations that have nourished her.
Mixing photography and painting, a metamorphosis took place on the pristine white empty space.

"As photography freezes an instant and retains what will very soon become a memory, resin freezes the material to preserve the artwork in time, making it unique and everlasting. »
