I was born FLOWER (FLOR, in Portuguese) in a tiny hippie community in the countryside of Rio deJaneiro, on June 4th of 1977. Shortly after one year old, me, my mother, my father and my brother went to live in Mozambique, where we stayed for three years. My first memory related to art is to looking for broken stretches on the sidewalks of Maputo, where itwas possible for her to draw on the sands of Mozambican capital. Africa has marked and influenced me in many ways, especially in my love for colors. As well as her northeastern origin, based in the backlands of Paraíba and the joy of the capital of Pernambuco. I grow up in Campinas, having graduated in engineering by the State University of Campinas(Unicamp). I only began to dedicate herself to art in 2016, after almost 10 years of work at theMinistry of Education, where she held relevant positions in the Brazilian federal government. With a creative, unpretentious and visually inviting art, the artist proposes contemplation and reflectionon the themes presented in her paintings.I'm a naive artist. I paint with my heart. The feminine awakened my art and my love. Behind each drawing there is the story of the muse that swept me away. Extraordinary beings: fairies, mermaids and witches. Archetypes of all of us. Lucky for me, I am absolutely surrounded by wonderful, strong, warrior and sweet women. And what's better: with infinite sides. I started playing to see in each one of them what they didn't see. They are extremely personal paintings that were given to each of my muses. I get emotional when I realize how I can be within so many other women, because I always see in them what I bring in myself, or would like to bring. Each drawing has an even stronger perception that we are all united in a single ancestral web, where our DNA, roots and dreams connect and make us daughters of the mother goddess. To all of you my muses: thank you so much!
