Description

This, along with Warrior, is part of a set of pieces I carved out of clay that was just shy of drying out. My process is usually more additive, but that adds moisture to already drying clay ---> possibility of cracking. So the bulk of this piece is subtractive. The clay was just soft enough to accept my stamping; since I had nothing to lose, I decided to experiment. I built this piece in 2016, adding oxides and glazes in 2019.
