The artist introduces briefly the bulkiness and hoarseness of a concrete wall that becomes the stage for the whole scene. He plays with the material's craggy and coarse surface and opposes it to the fine fragility of three crystal glasses that stand on a niche. In the foreground, there are are one orange and and an orange peel. They seem to stand on the sill of the frame of the whole composition and are completely detached from the rest of the setting, which allows the artist to play with colours and their contrast bringing forth the warmth and volume of the oranges and the space outlined by the orange peel.
It is also question about movement due to the placement of the objects in the scene.
