Juan Brito

Juan Brito is a contemporary Chilean painter. His paintings primarily consist of geometric shapes, with occasional references to origami and paper airplanes, which are more closely related to design. The subject is based on the myth of the Argonauts, a group of adventurers who built a spaceship and went in search of a mythical gold treasure that never existed.

The artist used a geometric-figurative language, which he could convert into simplicity and geometrization of the form, to express his ideas in his work. The iconography of the artist becomes more timeless and universal as a result of being more geometric.

Juan Brito was born in 1962, in Chile. He graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts of the National School of Art and Design of Oslo, Norway. The artist is currently living and working between Norway, Spain and Chile.
