Ciel d'orage à Royan (2017) Painting by Pen

Place du monument aux morts à Royan un jour de 14 juillet, par un temps menaçant avec un orage se préparant au loin. La majeure surface de la toile représente un ciel d'orage presque uniformément gris. Seule une petite trouée bleue subsiste en son milieu. Le coin supérieur gauche est illuminée par un coin de ciel blanc, très lumineux qui éclaire la mer et la placette au second plan. Trois drapeaux flottent au vent derrière le monument aux morts. Au premier plan sur la droite, une partie d'un immeuble faisant l'angle de la rue de la Marine.
L'œuvre a été réalisée sur une toile en lin naturel.

Three flags flutter in the wind behind the war memorial. In the foreground on the right, part of a building on the corner of Navy street.
The work was painted on a natural linen canvas.
