It's painted on stretched canvas using professional artist quality acrylics, and has been completed with one later of varnish for protection. Where the dried paint has overlapped the edges of the canvas it has left a slightly 'deckled' effect, which adds to the organic and natural feel of the painting. The sides have been left unsanded and are painted a dark blue- black to complement the main body of the work.
The painting is initialled in the lower right front, and is labelled/ signed in full on the reverse; it is unframed, and there are picture hooks and cord on the back so it's ready to hang.

I was born near London and spent my teenage years on the Isle of Wight. Following university in the UK and Canada, I spent many years working in health and education settings as a speech and language therapist, and also as a dance movement therapist in private practice.
I have always painted, and a few years ago took the bold decision to concentrate fully on my painting. I now live and work from my home in the beautiful borderlands between England and Wales, and make frequent painting journeys for inspiration further afield to the hills and coastlines of the north of England and Scotland.
